PROFILE

Dr. Carlos Ortiz M.D. F.A.A.P. is a pediatrician in Flushing, New York and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the Queens & Nassau County area. He received his medical degree from Universidad Libre de Cali, Colombia and completed his pediatric residency at Flushing Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. Since that time, Dr. Ortiz has been in practice for more than 30 years. Currently, he is a Volunteer Attending with privileges at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital. He performs the same role with the following Northwell Health divisions: North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Recently, he was invited by the nursing program of Molloy College to host and train students at his practice through their pediatric rotations. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Pediatrics is the specialty of medical science concerned with the physical, mental, and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. Pediatric care encompasses a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive health care to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Pediatricians are trained to meet the unique needs of children, through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
